Russian users say unable to install Windows 10, 11 versions

MOSCOW, Jun 20 (PRIME) -- Microsoft clients in Russia cannot download and update operating systems Windows 10 and Windows 11, according to complaints in social media seen by PRIME on June 19.

“I have a purchased license of Windows, and now I cannot download the installation package,” one of the users said.

Microsoft has not released any official statements.

News and research agency TelecomDaily General Director Denis Kuskov told PRIME that the country’s users can keep on working with the already installed versions of Microsoft’s operating systems or download new ones via VPN.

The country does not have a decent substitution for Windows. “We understand fairly well that most of the computers and personal laptops are this way of another under control of operating system Windows,” Kuskov said.
